Written by Mike Kim and Gino Garcia, 환절기 (pronounced hwan-jawl-gi) captures the flavors, sites, and people that made their once-in-a-lifetime Korean sabbatical so remarkable.
“환절기” translates to Changing of the Seasons, which refers to how Mike and Gino experienced life and food in Korea starting in late summer and ending in early spring.
환절기 features original illustrations from Paraguay-raised and Seoul-based artist, Youyeon Lee. The book’s layout was designed by Sophie Carrillo, a Querétaro-based designer.
